Description :
Hey there! The Eco Ninjas are a brilliant team who channeled their ingenuity into crafting a scale model house that cleverly embodies the principles of energy-efficient housing. Their design likely showcases features like passive solar heating, natural ventilation, and perhaps even miniature renewable energy systems in a truly unique and engaging way.
Kudos to the Eco Ninjas! Their innovative approach to representing complex concepts through such a creative medium is truly commendable. They’ve not only demonstrated technical understanding but also artistic flair and a passion for sustainability. Well done!
Our class consists of 25 5th grade students, 12 of whom are boys and 13 are girls. We all worked together on a common project on the topic of Energy. We divided into groups and built models of an energy building. After completing the project, we all presented our models, having received specific criteria, at an open event in the presence of parents/guardians and a jury of teachers. It was decided that the most complete model is the one of which we are sending you the video. Initially, we discussed in class what energy is and in what ways it can be utilized in a modern building. We learned about renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaic panels, wind turbines and solar heat. We thought about how we could incorporate them into our model. Then, we divided into smaller groups. We began to design our energy building. Everyone suggested ideas and together we decided what the shape would be, what its orientation should be, where the photovoltaics and other energy sources would be placed. We tried to make our building aesthetically pleasing, but also functional. We used recyclable and simple materials such as cardboard, straws, boxes, tree leaves and branches, product packaging and glue. Throughout the construction, we collaborated respectfully, listening to each other’s ideas. When the model was completed, we presented it in front of our classmates, parents and the jury. We explained how the building works, what role its energy systems play and why it is environmentally friendly. It was a wonderful experience and we felt proud of the result of our teamwork!
