Description :
We always love the Egg Drop Challenge! Yet the Lacedaemonian Stars took it to the next level!
After studying how space shuttles return to Earth after spending time in orbit, the Lacedaemonian Stars took on the challenge to create a parachute that would lower the speed of the fall, saving the Egg-stronaut’s life! Different shapes of parachutes were considered and multiple tests were performed with the prototypes. Timing of the falls was done with two ways: from the students at the time of the fall and from the videos. The measurements were compared and only a small statistical deviation was found! Thank you Lacedaemonian Stars for showing us your amazing scientific work!
Good evening to the general scientific public. 🤓The Lacedaemonian stars are a group of students from the third grade of Molae high school who participate in the school astronomy club. Our love for stars and our curiosity about how the world around us works were the reasons for our participation in the Astronomy Club. Our reason for participating is to broaden our knowledge of the universe and science through experiments and to create new experiences . We are excited and look forward to interacting with the other students participating in the festival and interacting with them. “Even when we are miles apart, always remember that we are under the same sky, looking at the same sun, moon and stars.”

thank you all for your comments in our video. Our conclusion was that the most succesfull parachutes were there that captivates the biggest volume of air. A very important key was the strings of the parachutes to be straight and equal in order to curve more the parachutes. Jamal your comment for the materias is very helpull and a idea we are thrilled to investigate. Love from Molaous of Laconia ,Greece

Wow, this is a great experiment! I especially like the different colored parachutes you used. It makes the video so much fun to watch! It looks like you're working together really well as a team. Maybe you can even try different materials for your parachutes next time and see how that affects how fast they fall. Keep up the awesome work, and good luck with your science project!
Love from Germany,
Jamal

We loved your video, and the bloopers! It looked like you all got a well thought plan. We wonder what your conclusion were on which of the parachutes was best and why. Keep up the good work!

Your experiment was original and impressive! We really liked that you showed us the bloopers to let us know that experiments may not be successful with the first try.
