Description :
The Pufferfish team made balloons that inflate on their own!
After programming the Robotic Mouse(!) to show the materials they would need, they carried out the experiment. They put baking soda in one balloon and filled another with vinegar. After placing the balloon with the baking soda inside the balloon with the vinegar, they tied them tightly and marked dots on them. Then they stepped on the balloons with their feet. As the balloon with the baking soda popped, the outer balloon expanded, since the baking soda and vinegar reacted with each other. The dots they had drawn helped make the balloon’s expansion visible.
Well done to the Pufferfish team for your creativity!
We are a team of enthusiastic children who love learning and playing together. We enjoy discovering new things and doing experiments. Working as a team makes us happy because we help each other and share ideas.
Our school is in Tragaki, on the beautiful island of Zakynthos in Greece. We were very excited about this experiment and we were curious to see what would happen. We decided to participate because we like exploring, asking questions and learning in a fun way.

Such a fun and colorful way to recreate this experiment! Well done! And of course mistakes are just a part from the learning and experimenting process!

This is such a fun and creative experiment. I loved how the Pufferfish team combined robotics, chemistry, and observation in one activity. The use of baking soda and vinegar to inflate the balloon made the chemical reaction visible and exciting for the children. Drawing dots on the balloon was also a clever way to help everyone see the expansion clearly. Well done to the Pufferfish team for making science playful, hands-on, and memorable.

You did a great job! Your experiment was excellent for first graders. We really enjoyed the video and your teamwork. It was a fantastic idea and so interesting to watch the balloon inflate!
