After a terrible storm, the village of the Hi5-The Real Bridge Engineers lost its bridge. After extensive research, planning, and many tests, these fantastic engineers managed to build a bridge that could withstand heavy loads and reconnect their village with the rest of the world.
Congrats to Hi5-The Real Bridge Engineers for showing us that when we face challenges with calmness and methodical thinking, we can make a situation even better, no matter how difficult it may seem at first!
The Real Bridge Engineers
Hello!
We are a creative team of teenagers from different countries: four from Egypt and one from Somalia. Even though we come from different places, today we worked together as engineers to solve one exciting challenge.
Our mission was to build a bridge that can hold 2 kilograms, using only the materials we were given and by following the engineering thinking process. While building, we learned about forces like compression and tension, and we discovered that the triangle is the strongest shape in geometry because it does not bend and it spreads forces evenly.
We worked in three groups, and after testing our bridges, something amazing happened: every bridge successfully held the weight! Today we didn’t just build bridges with materials, we also built teamwork, creativity, and engineering skills.
